Most of us are somewhere in the assembling,
customizing,
prepping,
priming,
base coating,
experimenting,
procrastinating,
layering,
ticking,

succeeding...
and struggling stages.
It's all good.
There's still plenty of time, at least for most of us.Today's NaMoPaiMo Champion of the Day is Susie Graham, for sharing what has to be the most honest progress picture of all time. Here's a more flattering one.Congratulations, Susie, and thank for sharing that peek into the glamorous life of an artist. Good job, also, to everyone who worked - or thought about working - on their models today. There's still a lot of month left. We've got this!

Hi Jennifer! I started reading your blog about a year ago, and I absolutely love it! I’ve gone back and red all your old posts once (and I’m working on a second time). Whenever you post something new it always makes my day! I have a question about live shows: what is proxy/ie showing? I’m not in the model showing hobby but I do have a halter shop on eBay (they are no where near the quality of your tack). I hope you have an amazing day! Thanks for making my days, Maxine.
ReplyDeleteHi Maxine! It's good to meet you. Thank you for the kind words. It really does mean a lot to me.
DeleteAs for proxy showing, that's when your horses go to the show without you! Typically, a friend takes them and shows them for you. You should pay an entry fee - often reduced, since you don't need a table. After the show, the friend will return the horses and their winnings. It's a fair amount of work keeping track of someone else's models at a show, so it's not unusual to pay for this service, or at least buy the shower a thank you gift.
Make sense? My brain is a little fried from NaMo, so let me know if I need to explain things better.
That makes perfect sense, thank you so much, and good luck with your little Olive.
DeleteCongratulations to Susie! It is nice to see the face of a name I've known -- and Jennifer is right in her assessment.
