Young entry

My kids were teenagers when I started NaMoPaiMo in 2017. Although they both took a turn painting models, Ryan in 2018...

and James in 2018...
they were well past the fun mommy-and-me art party stage.
I miss that stage.
Because of this, I love to see our youngest NaMoPainters painting with their parents.
Aubrey Dutra's daughter, Marie
Everything about these pictures makes me smile.
Heather Davis's son, Erik
Although she didn't official register, Della Valenzuela-Hughes' daughter, Shillelagh, completed not one but two models.
I especially love that swirly one!
Back in the Netherlands, my friend, Anne, followed up the Team Holland painting party with a family event. She writes: Today my kids Emma (4 yo) and Olivier (2 yo) painted their models. They were off to a good start, but then they decided that part of their creative process involved wiping and bathing their models. For a while I let them have their way but in the end I encouraged them to put at least a little bit of paint back on the models. I'll admit that was mostly to satisfy my own desire to have them end up with something painted. All in all they had a lot of fun and washing up after the painting session meant they got to play with water, so that's a double win!
Here's Emma's finished model.
And Olivier's.
I love seeing children paint during NaMoPaiMo. Thank you, Aubrey, Heather, Della and Anne for making the effort. I know it's a lot of work, but try to enjoy this stage. It goes by so quickly!

  1. I adore seeing the littlest painters! I used to work at Michaels with kids doing crafts and the creativity of children is amazing. These ponies are fabulous!
