My sister signed up for NaMoPaiMo this year.
She told me she had an idea, something out of the box that didn't involve paint, and I should send her a model.
Of course, I did.
But also, I told her that, whatever it is she has planned, I've probably seen it. After holding this event for so many years, I've pretty much seen it all.
Well, here's something I had not seen before.
Behold: Abi Forbes-Kennie's mushroom-horse hybrid. She writes: Introducing "A Complete Mess" my horrible mushroom-horse hybrid.Done completely by hand, no airbrush, just brush on acrylic and some pan pastels. Oh, and some greenstuff for moss.
Sculpted while I was deep in my concussion, he has been a good distraction during my recovery - the whole point was not to try too hard and not take doing him too seriously.
Is he perfect? No. Is he a complete mess? Yes. Am I happy with him? Yes, well enough. He will always be my concussion pony.
And that's not all.
Abi's "horse" comes with an adorable sidekick.

She explains: This is "Here Comes the Fuzz".
A mostly original sculpt, with Emma legs and an Othello tail. He's been in the works for a long time, but finally got his paint and fur this month. It was nice to get him finished.
Was aiming for forest spirit vibes. Just an eerie lil guy with his fungi-friend.
Amazing, original work, Abi!
I guess no matter how long I hold this event, someone's always going to surprise me.
I can't wait to see what my sister is working on.

Oh my goodness! I'm so pleased that my silly quirky guys have made an impression! Thank you so much. I'm overwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteI love this event, and love seeing what people do for it. I also love that you encourage all walks of creativity.
Thank you, Jenn ❤️
