Today's photo

Back in 2013, I took a whole series of white background, holiday photos with my models.

Although pretty basic by future standards, I was really proud of those pictures.
So much so, in fact, I completely overlooked how pitiful my Christmas tree was.
I pulled it out a couple years later to take some updated photos, and I was kind of shocked by its badness.
So I bought another, bigger tree, but that one needed work, too. Like the original, it had a much-too-big base. I removed that and replaced it with a 3D printed Christmas tree stand that Ryan made for me.
Then, I trimmed all the "needles" to make them look a little more in scale. That was messy and time consuming. Finally, I added a lot of new, trimmed branches using some "Christmas tree garland" I found at a local hobby shop.
This resulted in a much fuller, less Charlie Brown looking tree.
That's a good glow up. The story should end there, but lol, the joke's on me. As soon as finished the second tree, I found a much nicer one, with in scale needles and everything.
The only problem? It needs a few upgrades. Here we go again!
Today's prompt for the Yuletide Cheer Photo Chaos Challenge is Charlie Brown Christmas: Your best model glow-up.
While not my best hobby glow-up, but I think the Braymere Christmas trees fit the spirit of this one perfectly!

  1. I like this story, particularly as I was wrassling with my own mini Christmas trees the other day. Your prompt is the best so far!

  2. Nice, where did you find a tree with tiny molded needles?
