I did it

This year for NaMoPaiMo, I signed up to paint an Alexandra Glinkina Donut resin in bay pintaloosa

He was prepped and primed prior to the event, but when I started his basecoat on February 1, I found a whole slew of pinholes I'd somehow overlooked. I know how to fix those, but I really didn't feel up to it. I set him aside and didn't touch him again for nearly a week.

"It's okay," I told myself. "Some years it's not meant to happen."

Still, it the sight of him sitting there in basecoat bothered me. On February 8, I mixed up some messo and filled those pinholes.
This month has been really busy. I didn't start painting again until February 13.
I got on a roll, and things moved quickly.
Here's how he looked on February 21.
The last week has been all about white layers and details.
At one point, I took a picture of my pony sitting on his plate, and my iPhone identified him as food. Appropriate.
This was yesterday.
And here's today.
This is the picture I uploaded to the NaMoPaiMo website.
My pony is finished with one full day to spare.
Despite the late start, this was my least stressful NaMoPaiMo painting experience to date.
I didn't have any major issues, and things mostly just seemed to come together.
He's not perfect - none of them are - but I like him.
Because I prefer bagels to donuts and NaMoPaiMo can be a lot, Donut's new name is Everything Bagel.
Good luck and solidarity to everyone who is still painting. I believe in you. You've got this, but if you don't that's okay, too.
