Deciding what to show in a typical live show performance division is pretty straight forward. There's a lot of options for classes with the word "Other" or "Scene" in their name, but mostly, you put your harnessed horses in the Harness Class, your dressage horses in the Dressage class and your Western pleasure horses in the Western Pleasure class. Easy Peasy.
I have been brainstorming ideas for class one, License to Drive. Here's how Heather describes this one in the show packet: The theme is about driving, or cars or driving and cars or the Cory’s, go wild!
The obvious go to is a driving entry, and I can easily think of several options that would work for my model. However, they require an investment in tack, props and dolls that I am unwilling and unable to make at this time.
The next option is something with a vehicle, like this Breyer truck... and oh, I have an idea!
A couple months ago, I took pictures of the father/son cowboy team, Michael and Austin practicing their roping skills, with Maverick, the horse, and Goose, the Golden Retriever.
I'd need to make a roping dummy, but all the other parts of this entry would be easy peasy.
Bonus picture of real Olive and Gambler checking out the roping dummy.
Then I rewatched one of the videos I took of them. Darn it. That's way too slow for my Olive model!
That's okay. I have other vehicles and other ideas.
It will probably ending up being something golf cart related.
The show is not quite two months away. There's plenty of time to figure this out.

Very cool. I like seeing how people come up with something different.
