Fall coat

The longest, hottest summer is finally over. Fall is officially here. 

It's still warm, but Olive knows colder days are coming. Which is to say, she's shedding again.

Fall shed is nothing like spring shed. 

That is an absolute tsunami of long, thick, winter hair. 

Fall shed is kinder and gentler.

The short, slick summer hair slides off without much fanfare. If you aren't paying attention, you might not even know it's happening.

It is replaced with fall coat. 

Right now, the hairs are nearly the same length as the summer hairs, but there are a lot more of them. 

Olive is still shiny and pretty, but in a textured, velvety kind of way.

I love this stage.

Autumn is my favorite season. I love everything about it: the cooler temperatures, the spoopy holiday decorations, pumpkin spice everything, red and gold leaves and especially, Olive's gorgeous fall coat.
