I was scrolling through Facebook earlier today and tripped over this post by my friend, Corina Roberts. At the time, I was also preparing a box of gifts for a hobbyist I do not personally know, and it really resonated with me. I think of all the hobby levels, generosity is the best one. I'm glad I've been doing this long enough to have achieved it.
The Generosity Level
by Corina Roberts
There are a lot of "levels", if you will, in this hobby. When I entered, I was at the hunger level. That's where you hunger for every horse shaped object.

I started collecting again. I was still at the hunger level.
Gradually, somehow, somewhere along the way, the universe shifted.

Now I am honored to be at the generosity level. Friends give each other extraordinary gifts. Or we reach outside of the inner circle of generous hobby folks and extend some love outward into the universe.

Today I got to do that for a neighbor's daughter. She spent all summer in Nebraska where the kids were a little kinder, a little gentler than the kids in California. Yesterday was her first day back to school here in Cali. It was a little rough. When she came home today, she found three Breyers hidden in various places in her yard. Her mom took some pictures, including this one, which I just absolutely love, and had to share.
Thank you so much for this, Corina. I, too, spent a lot of years at hunger. There's no shame in that, but generosity is better. I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful, generous community.
P.S. If you would like to be a little generous, please consider donating to the Jessica Geer fundraiser.

Awwwww....I love this. I can totally relate to this article. Thank you for sharing it.
