Life + moar bunnies

Mom's caseworker called at 4:30 yesterday to let us know that she was going to be transferred to a rehab facility between 6:00 and 6:30. This was a bit sudden, but we weren't complaining. For more than a week, our number one goal has been to get Mom out of this hospital. We wrapped up what we were doing, and headed over there.

Of course, by the time we arrived, the transfer had been pushed back to nine.

This was not ideal. Mom is a dementia patient, and nights are not her friend. Still, we went with it. We stayed in the room with Mom for several hours, keeping her calm while we waited for the ambulance. They arrived late, and when they got there, it became clear that the hospital staff had not properly prepared Mom for the transfer. A piece of medical equipment that the doctor told us was necessary to protect her hip was missing parts. The staff was unable to replace or repair it in a timely manner, and ultimately, the ambulance left without her.

The hospital tried to talk us into a 10:45 pm postponement. We refused that, and are now scheduled for 9 AM this morning.

I am so tired.

The rest of this post is filled with more pictures from our visit to the Bunny Museum. Enjoy!

  3. Best of luck with the transfer! Hope the bunnies help - that's gotta be one of the wackiest museums I've ever seen and I adore it.
