Last month, it was Santana. This month, it's Sprite.
For just over three years - from September 2014 to October 2017 - Sprite was one of my most regular and favorite rides.Because of Sprite, I looked forward to Friday all week long.
Together, we traveled many miles.
I loved seeing the world through her black tipped ears.
She was unfailingly sweet...
with just a little bit of sass.
I adored her.
I was just as fond of her owner.
Still, I looked forward to the times when Edie and her family were away on one of their fabulous vacations.
Whenever that happened, Sprite was all mine.
Correction, she was mine and James'.
I am so grateful we had that time together.
I am so grateful I had that time with Sprite.
Sprite passed away last week at the grand old age of twenty nine.
She was a fantastic horse, and my heart goes out to Edie and her family.
Thank you so much for sharing Sprite with me.
You have no idea how much I appreciated that.
The rest of the post is an assortment of pictures from our time together. Godspeed, Spritey. You are missed.

Man!! This has been one rough, rough year concerning the animals we've come to know through your blog posts Jennifer!! (I'm still sad about how Rylie lost Razzle--and now this!!)
ReplyDeleteMy deepest condolences to you and Edie and her family for the loss of such a *beautiful * mare!! R.I.P Sprite!! You will be missed!!
Words fail. Twenty-nine is a ripe old age for a horse, I think. She was much appreciated, even by us distant admirers.
