Odds and loose ends

In case you somehow haven't heard, Christmas is Monday, December 25.

It's a hard time to be a retail worker. I did a good job keeping up for a while, but the last few days have been rough.
Today's post is more a collection of updates than anything else. Tomorrow - I promise - will be better.
It turns out the gifter was Heather Jackson-Lain. Thank you so much, Heather. I really needed that!

Lynn had it right: It was Huckleberry Bey!

Moving on: The people have spoken and my new foal, Ribbit, belongs to Beep. Good luck to him. She's not really a motherly type.
Finally, let's revisit Shauna McDaniel's demented advent calendar. Thursday's gift was confusing, mostly because my dogs ate part of it.
Here's what it should have been.

Yesterday's package was untouched by dogs.
Inside I found, candy, a toothbrush with toothpaste and fluffy socks. How refreshingly wholesome!
Today's offering was also dog destroyed.
They left me a baggie with four marshmallows, two tealights and half a chop stick.
The tealights came complete with toothmarks because that's how we roll.
This was supposed to be a do-it-yourself s'mores kit, complete with chocolate covered crackers. Thanks, Darcy and Emma. I hope you enjoyed those!

And thank you, Shauna. I can not tell you how much I've looked forward to opening these little presents every day.
I think I'm caught up now.
Tomorrow is Christmas photo day at the barn. I can't wait!

  1. Yay! I'm so glad that you chose Ribbit as his name! I think that Beep will do a good job as a mom...maybe. 😉 Also, do you know what is going on with the mannequin with the uhh... interesting way of wearing pants?

  2. How curious! How'd you end up choosing "Ribbit" for the name?? Seemed like the consensus was that everyone liked "Lollihops"!
Cute tho---as is the 'mother/son" selfie! The Shauna reveals are hysterical !
Uhhh-ewww! I *do* hope you're in the middle of dressing that mannequin! My poor eyes don't need to see *that*! Shudder! Heh!
I must be one of the few people who really don't care for this year's Huck's! ( Altho the red filigree is growing on me--next to the candy apple red. The greens don't appeal to me at all---but--maybe I'd like them better "in-person "?? Congrats to those who received one! Guess Breyer won't have to do a Christmas reveal after all, huh??
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you, your family, Olive and the dogs!!

    1. I love the name Lollihops and I am 100% going to use it for someone (possibly Elfwynn), but Beep's baby needs to have a sound name. Ribbit is perfect.

  3. Thanks for putting together the 4 Hucks - my first time seeing the entirety. Fairy tales really do come true: I've heard about the mythical red-and-green-dapple Breyers since the early 80s. These are a huge upgrade on Holly & Ivy!
