It's one of my favorite holiday traditions: the annual Christmas photo shoot at the barn.
After a few low effort years, I decided it was time to once again have a prop for all the horses to interact with.
As soon as I put it in place, everyone was on high alert!Olive went first.
It was really windy, and that garland was blowing from side to side. Olive was very concerned, and for a moment or two, I thought this was going to be a bust.
Then all the desensitization work we've done this week clicked in.
Olive slowly and carefully walked up to the box...
and struck a pose.
Good girl, Olive!
Roy was next.
He also had a little wind in the garland freak out, but it only lasted for a couple seconds.
Then he was right back to being his usual, brave self.
Good boy, Roy!
The third horse was Claire's Doodlebug, who came dressed as Rudolph.
Like Olive and Roy, she had one good reaction to the box.
Then she was fine.
Good girl, Doodle!
Our final participant was Sarah's two year old Andalusian, Amora.
There were a few snorts, but overall, she was the bravest one of the bunch.
Good girl, Amora!
Despite the arctic temperatures that kept most of my barn buddies at home, this was a really fun day.
Thanks to Reece for all his help. I can't wait to do again next year!

Love these! Amora is a lovely addition to the crew. :) Merry Christmas, Jennifer!
