Spa day

Olive worked hard (for her) this weekend, and today was really hot. Instead of riding, I decided to treat her to a spa day. We started with a good, thorough grooming.

If you've ever put your hands under a horse's mane, you know how warm it can be. The braids are as much to keep her cool as they are to make her feel pretty.
But since she did look so pretty, the next item on our agenda was a photo shoot.
The wind was blowing so hard, I had trouble keeping her tail in the frame!
And even with that wind and copious amounts of fly spray, the bugs were really biting. Between takes, Olive stamped her feet...
and shook her head.
So much shaking.
Discombobulated.
What big ears you have, my dear.
After we'd finished taking photos, I let Olive stretch her legs in the paddock.
The first thing she did was sniff out - and eat! - the one bit of greenery inside that sandy spot.
After that, she lay down and rolled.
Good bye, shiny, clean pony!
More shaking.
Olive's spa day ended with brunch with Roy.
Once they'd eaten their fill, I put her back in her stall and went to work. After all, someone's got to pay for Olive's luxurious lifestyle.
