Last month, I went on a work trip to Sacramento.
The hotel where I stayed was a basic American chain hotel. It was fine and forgettable, except one thing: the really terrible carpet. I took multiple pictures of it because I just could not believe anyone would have thought it was a good idea.

Well, guess what?

BreyerFest's host hotel has been remodeled since last year and the carpeting choice looks tragically familiar.

It's so bad.

Of course, the hobby being what is, everyone had to take pictures with it.

and MemeFest began in earnest.
Here's one from Christine Sutcliffe...
and this is by Heather Malone.
I think Kristina Lucas-Francis gets credit for these.
Of course, this being a hobby of horse girls, a lot of people's thoughts went straight to the iconic trauma scene from The Neverending Story. Here's Diana Ruth Dubbeld's version...
and Erin Corbett's.
I hear there will be a dramatic reenactment starring Beowulf later today.
If that happens, I will be happy to share it here. In the meantime, keep taking pictures, my friends, and not just of the carpet!

Well at least it’s Breyer-colored… sorta
ReplyDeleteI think that is the most atrocious thing I have EVER seen for flooring. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhoever picked this should seriously be forced to switch careers. This carpet it objectively horrifyingly ugly.
ReplyDeleteWhoever picked this carpet should be forced to have it installed in THEIR OWN home. The entire home. LOL
DeleteI could not agree more
DeleteHmmmm---actually you should install stall walls on either side! Really--if you stretch your imagination just a little bit--doesn't the black area look like an aisle way and the yellow stuff look like either bedding (or hay that the horses threw on the floor??) Here's something to try--see if they'd let you walk a *real* in there to see if it would try to eat the carpet--then you'd know for sure!
ReplyDeleteO my gosh! My little nephew can do better than this--and he's only TWO!! Who told grown people that *this* was a great idea???!! (Shield your eyes, people-there's nothing to see here!!)
Holy cow!! Someone actually paid to have this installed??!! A case of more money than good fashion sense??(Altho if you wanna see something that will freak you out, you should see the multicolored circular/striped carpet that they have at my place of work! Yeesh!! Makes you wonder if you entered "The Twilight Zone"
Hopefully the rest of Breyerfest gets better!!

Hahahaha!!! The shark and alligators are GREAT!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know the rationale behind the carpet. It's just crazy.
ReplyDeleteWow, just.....wow. 🤪
ReplyDeleteI have a weird soft spot for ugly carpets, the uglier the better and well...somebody should paint a horse like this one, just for fun lol
ReplyDeleteHow did the girl in the eighth photo get so high!?!
