Let the JOMO begin

Happy Monday! It is officially BreyerFest week.
Across the country - and my Facebook feed! - hobbyists are packing their models and heading to Kentucky.
Except some of us aren't actually going.
In a post published last Saturday, my friend and fellow blogger, Lynn Isenbarger, discussed packing her BreyerFest tickets...
and my Beswick Shire and handing them off to a friend who was attending BreyerFest.
I had a very similar experience on Sunday. I am loaning Tiffany a tack set to use the BreyerFest Open Show. I should have mailed it a week ago, but time got away from me. Instead, I delivered it to Angelo, who will give it to Tiffany.
Quality control inspected my packing.
Then it went in the box with Going Postal.
Once that was done, I settled into one of Angelo's comfy chairs,
admired the plants and talked the night away.
No surprise, one of the main topics was BreyerFest.
Not going to lie, it made me a little misty.
BreyerFest is fun.
I had the best time last year.
But BreyerFest is also hot, expensive, emotional and exhausting.
I know I don't have the spoons for it this year.
I know I will miss my friends...
I'll miss you all so much!
butI also know this is the right thing for me.
Have fun in Kentucky, my friends, and please post lots of pictures, so I can enjoy it all from the quiet, peaceful, air conditioned comfort of my home.

  1. I'm lucky enough to be going for my first time in person, but I hope all the virtual/non attendees have a great time!

  3. As someone who struggles with Social Anxiety, I so understand the running out of spoons meme. 🤣 Thank you for making us all feel so included. 💜

  4. I'm not worried about FOMO but I think if I was going to Breyerfest in person I'd be SO anxiety-ridden that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it.

  5. I think I do understand both FOMO and JOMO, haha X) I'm not sure if I will ever have a chance to visit real Breyerfest but if I go I imagine it would be both wonderful and exhausting at the same time.
