There were a couple posts about Heather Malone's 2019 show, Candyland Live...
but this day belonged to her 2018 extravaganza, Rocky Mountain Spring Fling.
I spent months preparing for this show.
I made tack.I designed...
I customized and dressed a doll.
I'm not going to say I'm one hundred percent done with live show performance showing, but I can say with complete confidence, I will never show one horse in thirty one classes again.
Tiffany and I got together and designed the most versatile model we could imagine. Then Tiffany made her.
I practiced (most of) my entries.
I showed that pony in thirty one performance classes.
It was a long day, and I needed every one of those Diet Cokes Fabian brought to the show hall.
It was also a successful day. My pony was named Overall Performance Champion and Best in Show.
It was fun.
It was also exhausting.Still, I regret nothing. I'm really glad that one time I went all out, no holds barred, best I can do for performance division with a conventional class list. I don't need to do that again, but I'm glad I did it once.

When I was a teenager, we had a very active (real horse) local show circuit It was back in the day when towns still had saddle clubs. You could show every Sunday from the first of May through Labor Day cover three counties but never show at the same grounds twice. My Dad would put us up in the morning and tell us to stay on those horses until lunch break (so he didn't have to babysit horses tied to the trailer). We would show in at least 8 classes a day and change from Western to English and back again. Bareback. Trail. Command. If we were real ambitious that year - driving.... That's sort of like showing the same model in 30 classes! We're too old for that sort of thing now LOL!
