I never intended to drop out of the workforce forever. In fact, the original pre-pandemic plan was to come home from Europe, host NaMoPaiMo and find a job. I probably would have done it, too, but...
I spent an entire year sitting at home, safeguarding my health. In April, I was vaccinated. I assumed all my fellow Americans would follow suit, and for a brief, shining moment, it looked like the end was in sight.
It wasn't.
Eventually, I got tired of waiting. One thing led to another, and this happened.
I've been working at Dover for just over a month now. It's going well. The work is easy and familiar, the hours are reasonable and I really like my co-workers, especially this one.
So anyway, that's the scoop. After two decades of tiny saddles, I've cycled back to the real thing. Life goes on, life is good.
