I have another idea

Everyone has the same question when I tell them that Sage is dressing up like Blucifer for Halloween. "How," they ask, "are you going to do the red eyes?"

Truth be told, at first I hadn't planned to do anything in regards to the eyes. I thought dressing her in head-to-tail blue was good enough. "Her chestnut coloring shows through the eye holes," I said. "That's the red."
No one - and I mean no one - thought that was sufficient. Apparently, the glowing red eyes are Blucifer's most defining feature. If I didn't get them right, the whole costume would be a failure.
That's a lot of pressure.
My inner circle and I started brainstorming ways to up eye redness. Seth suggested felt. I was leaning towards paint. Karen researched tinted horse goggles. Sage upstaged us all by getting an eye infection that made her eyes naturally red and puffy.
The infections have been a constant battle in this very bad fly year. Yesterday, as I was putting on her seventh mask of the season, I had an idea.
Today, Piper and I drove all the way across town - oh, how I miss our neighborhood JoAnn! - to pick up some red tulle fabric.
Oh, Blusagecifer's eyes are going to be red... and protected from insects, too!
