BreyerFest is a shopping event. People travel far and wide for the opportunity to add more plastic horses to their collection.

But also, BreyerFest is a family event. People travel far and wide to spend time with their hobby family.

In the case of Tara Reich and Sue Rowe, hobby family is also actual family.
Sue was one of the OG hobby tackmakers, so Tara has been attending BreyerFest since she was a little girl.
This year, Sue and Tara decided to recreate one of their photos from thirty five years ago. I love this so much!
Missy Shaw did a similar thing with her son, Henri.
She writes: I’ve been to BreyerFest with my mom, my man, my baby and my bestie - finally, it's the boy’s turn. There has been some intermittent Teenage Attitude, but overall it’s been an amazing trip.
Here's Missy at age fourteen and a half in 1999.
And thirteen year old Henri in 2024. As a condition of sharing this photo, I am required to tell you that the chart is in a different place and is a couple inches off the ground now. Thank Sue, Tara, Missy and Henri for taking and sharing these photos. I'm so glad to have you in my hobby family!
Photo recreations are such fun. And poignant.
