The Breyer Clydesdale foal made her debut in 1969, which is the year I was born. Coincidentally, first model horse was a Clydesdale foal my sister named Braymere.
No surprise, I've always had a soft spot for that mold.
She's very endearing, but also, a little outdated.
In the last fifty plus years, Breyer has debuted many new draft horse molds.
I am quite fond of some of them.
But there's never been a new draft foal... until now!
I opened Facebook while I was on my break, and there she was a million times over!

Thanks Jennifer for always having something positive to say!! These new models aren't even in collector's hands yet and already in some places , the naysayers are out in force bashing them (in a sense) just because Breyer didn't cow tow to them and put out a model they thought should be put out!!
ReplyDeleteNot me!! I think she's gorgeous!! Thank you Kylee!! I may never be able to afford your original resins or other works--but *this*--this is the next best thing!! I can hardly wait until they're released!! I don't know if you have any Peter Stone's, but she looks like a perfect match to their Irish Cob!! Well done !!
I have "Braymere" too--only mine is a "he" named "Sampson" because his father's name was "Goliath "(and no--his mother's name wasn't "Delilah "!! !
ReplyDeleteI like "Rhiannon" ! The only disappointing thing is her head is too high in the air for performance classes(I could see her in harness!) and her mane isn't friendly for halter or showmanship! What to do with her??
I love them. Can't wait to get my set.
