Halloweenies 2023

There's a lot of reasons why October is the best month: best weather, best colors, best holiday and best hobby sale. Here's a look at Franceyn Dare's offerings for this year's Halloweenies sale.

First up is Cats in the Belfry v1.
Franceyn writes: Cats in the Belfry v1 is a beautiful Django made into a blue on blue, with just a hint of purple, pinto Cataloosa and finished in thick, lush gloss!
Sometimes an idea is too good to do only once. Here's Cats in the Belfry v2.
He is G1 Morgan painted with a line of alley cats sitting side by side, silhouetted against a sunset complete with golden clouds and stars in the sky and finished in lush gloss. Amazing.
Crypto is next.
This mini Fireheart features 3D hand sculpted and painted teeny skulls encased within his torso. They are aged and damaged and moss grows in between them. The mid section "cavern" has been glossed which makes it stand out, and contrasts nicely with the matte, aged and cracked granite look covering the rest of the pony. Also amazing.
Onto Haemoglobin!
As his name suggests, this one is bloody. Franceyn writes: This little loping QH features a blood dripping 'splash' pinto pattern. His red area features layers of different blood red holographic shapes and glitters which create a fun depth and make for maximum sparkle! The super gloss red contrasts nicely with the matte white of the lower part of his body.
Every barn needs a cat, so here's one for the Halloweenie stable.
Count is a winged, fanged black, purple and pink kitty with 'tude. His wings are metallic and colour-shifting. They look pink in these photos, but depending on light, can also appear as gold.
The next entry in the Halloweenie line-up is Orb Weaver.
This striking Vanner features a blinged up spider sitting on his hip, casting her web down the length of his aqua through blue to violet ombre body.
Another Django? Yes! This is Paradox.
Franceyn describes him this way: Can you tell that I'm obsessed with this mold!? This guy features a 3D torso inset of sculpted pewter/ silver coloured barbed wire adorned with rich red roses set in a holographic black backdrop. Paradox has been painted to a beautiful shaded light bay with star, snip and four white socks.
And then there's Cyanide.
This little Clydesdale features a poison bottle with shimmery, glittery green liquid inside, snowglobe style! His body is finished in green to purple colour-shifting scales! Certainly a one of a kind.
Historically, Franceyn's Halloweenie equine offerings have been made from Breyer Stablemates, but this year's sale includes two artist edition micro minis sculpted by Maggie Bennett.
This is Angel-ina...
and this is Demon-ica.
I love Maggie's micros as much as I love Franceyn's Halloweenies, so I hope these are the first of many such pairings.
Saving the best for last, here's my favorite of the class of 2023: Witchy Woo.
Here's Franceyn's description: So for a little dose of the ridiculous, I present Witchy-Woo. A blue eyed grey pinto mule taking a spa, complete with his little cocktail, in a witches cauldron! His bath water consists of bubbly, glittery green goo!
These models will be available for sale on Franceyn's Facebook page later this evening. Congratulations, Franceyn, on another amazing group of models. I can't wait to see what you do next year!
