A wing and a prayer

Every year for the last several years, I have written a preHalloween post about turning guinea pig costumes into model horse costumes.
It's been fun, but at this point, it feels a little played out. I decided I wasn't going to do that again this year, and told Piper as much on a recent trip to PetSmart.
Despite my resolve, I couldn't resist looking at the costumes.
The Hershey's Bar was calling my name. I took it off the rack, held it for a moment, then reluctantly put it back.

"Not this year," I told myself. "Not this year."
Then I saw the butterfly wings.
Instantly, I was reminded of the current cover photo for the BLM Mustang Hub group on Facebook.
When that photo was posted, I saved into my performance folder.

"That would be a perfect reference picture for Jennibray," I told myself, "If ever I were to find some wings."

Sigh. So much for not this year.
The wings were sewn onto a little blanket that didn't fit Jenni at all. No matter! I was planning to cut them off anyway.
I could temporarily tie them to a Western saddle per the reference photo, but more likely, I'll attach them to a surcingle.
This week is busy, so that's a project for another day. Maybe - hopefully - I'll get it done before Halloween!
