Meet and greet: Going Postal

The model horse hobby has a tradition of traveling mascots, several of which were on display at this year's BreyerWest.

This is Jackie Rossi's Beowulf...
and this crew belongs to Heather Jackson-Lain and Tara Reich.
Tara's Screaming Man is such a troublemaker.
And then there's this guy.
Erin Corbett shipped him without a box from her home in Oregon to Jeni's house in Illinois.
Against all odds, he made it safe and sound.
Since then, he's been Jeni's traveling mascot. He's met a lot of hobby people, but he hasn't met a lot of hobby horses.
At least not until now!
Jeni's travel plans didn't allow her to accompany Going Postal on this mission, so she placed him in the care of Fabian Rodriguez. On the Monday after BreyerWest, Fabian took a group of hobbyists out to his barn to meet his Fjord, Cisco.
Melanie Miller, Angelo Žunić, Cisco, Fabian Rodriguez and Christine Jordan
Cisco was introduced to Going Postal.
In the words of Fabian, "He wasn't having it."
Actually, though, Cisco was fine. Look at him being a good boy!
Later that day, Fabian handed Going Postal off to me.
Olive really wasn't having it.
Actually, though, we've done a lot of desensitizing work this winter.
It didn't take too long for her to get over herself and just eat the carrot.
Good pony.
She still didn't like it,
especially not on her shoulder,
but she let me do it. Really good pony.
Of course, all the drama attracted interest from some of my fellow boarders. Here I am trying - and failing - to explain Going Postal to Reece.
Pretty sure he thought Olive needed saving from her crazy owner. Lololololololol.
Despite what Olive - and Reece - may think, that was really fun. Thanks for making it happen, Jeni. Going Postal goes back to Fabian tonight, and then he can make the long trip back to Illinois, this time in a box.
