Sunday is the last official day of BreyerWest.
The main event of the day is the Youth and Novice Show.
Heather Jackson-Lain judged the Original Finish classes,
Tiffany Purdy handled the Performance division...
and I was in charge of the Customs.
This a learning show, so each judge spent time explaining their placings...
and giving individual feedback. This makes the show as much fun for the judges as it is for the showers.
My custom classes were small but mighty.
Most of the winners were small, too.Newcomer, Alexis Dedes, wowed me - and everyone else - with her exquisitely detailed herd of stablemates.
Her pieces claimed both the Overall and Reserve Overall Championships of this division. Next year, she will show in the Open Show, and probably do just as well. Great job, Alexis! I am so impressed.
After I was done judging, I met up with Tara at the Stablemate Painting area.
We were joined by Celeste...
and then Heather, Tegan and Kenzie. I was so busy talking and painting, I forgot to take photos, but here's one of Celeste's.
And here are the models that Tara and I painted.
They were warm-up pieces for the last official BreyerWest competition, the one hour Stablemate Painting Contest. I watched this event from the sidelines in 2022, but this year, I jumped right into the fray.
My horse didn't turn out terribly well, and I didn't win anything, but I had so much fun. I'll definitely write more about this experience in a future post.
The prizes were awarded, and just like that, the official part of BreyerWest was essentially over. I made my way around the room, saying goodbye and taking a few last pictures.

Tiffany and Tara cuddled up with Olive...
and Christie finally got to meet Rhino.
He doesn't disappoint. Everyone loves Rhino.
We played with the ponies until it was nearly dark. Then I dropped Tara off at Heather's, and Tiffany, Christie and I had dinner with Seth and James. It was a perfect ending to a nearly perfect BreyerWest. Thank you to Erin, Kristen and the entire Breyer Events Team. BreyerWest is truly BreyerBest. I am already looking forward to next year.
