Seth's parents are going through a rough patch, so two weeks ago he packed up the minivan and his little trailer and headed to Texas.
Ryan moved out a couple days later.
Since then, it's just been me and the bitches here on the home front.
I thought I'd have plenty of time for blogging, but it hasn't worked out that way.
For once, I can't blame Olive. Wet weather,
hives...and lost shoes have mostly kept me out of the saddle.
The majority of my barn time has been spent working on her new stall...
and hanging out with my barn buddies, who have been very diligent about making sure I'm provided for in my family's absence.
Work has definitely been a factor.
We received almost four thousand pounds of inventory prior to last weekend's tent sale. Since no one was waiting for me at home, I picked up several extra shifts. It ended up being kind of a lot, but I know I'll appreciate it come payday.Mostly though, I've been painting.
This customized Ballycor resin was my 2021 NaMoPaiMo horse. I finished her in time to make the collage, but she never quite felt done to me. Last week I repainted her mane and tail to better match my reference photos.
For comparison, here's the before picture.
I like her so much better now. She might be actually finished.
I also put in some time on my 2021 NaMoPaiMo bonus pony, Auron.
I've been picking away at this boy's body color for years. This is proably as good as it's going to get. Details are next. I can't wait to see him finished. The dog, goat and medallion are all new projects. Mushu is almost finished, the goat is barely started and Renaldi is somewhere in the middle.
Seth comes home today, so this might be the end of the one person painting party. Then again, the muse is strong right now. Who knows. I might just keep going and going.
