Eerie Equine Live

Before the pandemic, my friend, Heather Malone, hosted a big, destination type show every year at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado.

That's the same show hall Jennifer Scott and I used for the Jennifer Show. It's a great space for a model horse show, but it's also really expensive.
Earlier this year, Heather decided to host a small, local show. She started looking for a more budget friendly location and found the Lowry Conference Center located in the Community College of Aurora's Lowry Campus.
And just like that, Eerie Equine Live was born.
There were six Open divisions: Original Finish Breyer, Original Finish Mini Plastic, Original Finish Stone,
Custom,
Artist Resin...
There were also four Youth divisions: Large Original Finish Plastic, Mini Original Finish Plastic, Custom and Themed Performance.
Prizes included paper ribbons, recycled rosettes and certificates.
As per usual with Heather's shows, there was lots of food and drink, plenty of door prizes and a really great raffle.
And the hall itself?
You couldn't hold a big show there, but it was nearly perfect for a smaller event like Eerie Equine Live.
I especially appreciated the good lighting and comfortable chairs, and did I mention it's only nine minutes from my house?
Great find, Heather! I hope this is the first of many shows I will attend at the Lowry Conference Center.
And who knows, maybe having an affordable hall this close to my house will inspire me to host another show someday. No promises, but it definitely feels like a real possibility...
