When I said this was not a shopping BreyerFest, what I meant was that it was not a shopping BreyerFest for me.Pretty much everyone else seemed to be doing their level best to keep the hobby economy going strong.
Everywhere you go at BreyerFest, there are models for sale... and resale. Not going to lie, I was tempted. I hope someone else scooped it up!
The host hotel has two officially sanctioned, multi-evening sales events: the Artisan's Gallery for artist produced models and the Swap Meet for everything else.
At the Park, you can find them in the Breyer Store, the Special Run Tent, the Covered Arena and the Visitor Center Gift Shop.
Beyond that, there are room sales.
This may not have been a shopping BreyerFest, but even I can not withstand the lure of room sales.
I mean, come on.
You never know what you might find when you step inside a someone else's hotel room.
It might be trash.
It might be treasure. Most of the rooms are filled with original finish models, but if you look long enough, you can find a little bit of everything.
Sometimes you can even find a dog!
My most surprising find this year was a melted Stablemate bowl like the one featured in the infamous GoldieBlox video from 2018.
Even in a non-shopping year, room shopping is one of my favorite parts of BreyerFest. Thank you to everyone who opened their rooms to the public this year. It was so good to see you and your pretty horses.
