All of Olive

Everyone wants to know about Olive, so here are the details: Olive is a ten year old, fourteen hand Mustang mare. She was born near the Divide Basin in Sweetwater County, Wyoming and was rounded up at about six months of age. She languished in a government holding pen until Michael and Shelly adopted her in November 2016. They brought her to Colorado, gentled her and got her going under saddle. Most of the pictures accompanying this post were taken in 2018 and 2019, which was when Olive was ridden most consistently. In the years since then, Michael and Shelly's business has taken off. Although they loved Olive, there just weren't enough hours in the day to give her the time she needed. After Lucy died, I told Teresa that maybe it was time for me to get my own horse. She knew about Olive and decided to play matchmaker. Yesterday was the happy result. Thank you so much, Teresa, and of course, Michael and Shelly. I am so happy and honored to be Olive's new person. 💚💚💚

    1. It's a really good age for a horse.

    2. It really is! Looks like she very versatile, too. I happen to like the, er, more petite equines, especially as I’m a little older and don’t bounce quite as well anymore. It looks like your Olive had a great start and you are going to have a ball working with her and just plain enjoying her. Yay, Teresa for playing matchmaker!

    3. I keep saying she's green - and she is - but also, she has had a really good start. There's nothing that needs to be untrained. She just needs miles. I think (hope) she'll progress really quickly.

  3. When you have enough horsey experience I feel like a green blank canvass is a great starting point because you get to train the horse how you want, I hope everything goes like a dream
