Every fall, my friend, Karen, drives to Durango to visit her son, Evan.
And every fall, she invites me to go with her.
I also love that part of Colorado.I've never lived in Durango, but I spent a summer in nearby Mancos. That was a few decades and a couple lifetimes ago, but it was a really good summer. It's far enough from Denver - almost seven hours and two big mountain passes - that I don't get back there often. In fact, the last time was 2017.When Karen asked me if I wanted to go with her this year, I didn't just say yes. I also said, "Let's make it happen."Today, we are.In a couple hours, Karen and I plus our dogs, Chelsea and Piper, will hit the road for a quick four day, three night road trip. After talking about it for so many years, I can't believe it's finally happening. I'm really, really glad we're doing this. Watch out Durango. We're on our way!

Have fun and enjoy!!
