Staying the course

I knew this was going to be a complicated month, but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly! Yesterday was a lot, so instead of working on my IMTM project, I painted props.

Most of these were sculpted and 3D printed by Jake Heaps of Break the Mold Studio. I've had them for, um, kind of a while.
The mounting block and grooming tote where painted more than a year ago, when Olive was still alive and well. At the time, I thought it would be fun to make olive my official 1:9 scale stable color.
Things are very different now. I had to decide if I wanted to pick a new color, or risk being the person who is forever stuck on their much loved but no longer living horse.
For the record, I am totally that person.
Olive green it is!
I actually love this color. Even without the Olive connection, I'd be happy with this set.
The comb is from Handcrafted by Kari. Emma contributed the hair.
Hopefully, things will sort themselves out a bit and I can get back to tack, but in the meantime, I still have a lot of little things to paint!

  1. This color is a beautiful homage to a beautiful pony.

  2. You need to add hair stuck in the curry comb 🤣
By the way it is a very nice color, and it's a way to remember her ❤️

  3. "Totally that person it is" is the message I'm getting: a good way to put it. That shade goes well with many colors.

  4. "forever stuck on..."
I would be exactly the same.

The little grooming kit is so pretty.

    1. Olive will always have a big piece of my heart, but I really hope I will feel as strongly about the next horse. Three years was not long enough.

    2. I think if you find the right one, it will touch your heart, too. But maybe the search will take long. Luckily, Winslow is with you for now.
