On the day that Darcy died, I went out to the mailbox and found two little, hobby-related packages waiting for me. I hardly buy anything these days, so I took a moment to thank my past self for somehow knowing that on this particular day, I was really going to need a little pick me up.
The envelope contained two saddle pads by Maire Lanzafane. I bought these during the most recent StudioMaire Facebook sale. Historically, I haven't had a lot of luck during these sales. This time, I got two. Did I need them? No. Am I delighted to own them, I certainly am!
I got a 1:9 scale hay ball feeder...
Speaking of job boxes, this month's blog giveaway is one job box filled with filled with enough stuff to get you through a project or two. No promises, but tack hardware and leather lace is a possibility. Also, a tiny spray bottle or two with printed labels!

Ive adopted the job box storage habit to keep these pesky buckles from jumping off the desk! Been great so far as ive got about 5 projects going at once. I also got a few Studio Maire pads!

ReplyDeleteI like the job box idea and am wondering how I could translate that to sewing, both pouches and 18th century clothing. Keeping patterns, threads, fabrics, and embellishments together can be a challenge - I may just adapt your idea. Thanks, Jennifer!

Add me to those that love the Job Box idea. I even went so far as to see if I could find boxes like them or a similar type online to purchase.
ReplyDeleteSince I mostly make blankets, I use a job bag. I cut out the blankets and lining first. After gluing the ribbon straps to the hardware and cutting all the other ribbon pieces I need, I store them in a 2" x3" zippered bag. I can make up several at a time this way and only open the one I want to work on. I like your job box idea, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the Studio Maire pads- I was...safe? For better or worse, due to a lack of budget when this last group went up, but one of these days I'll nab a few! I also love Amanda's props. Many are in my Job Drawer waiting to be finished LOL

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pads! I got a blue one for my coelwboy rider needed for the saddle i made last year and the also did NaMoPaiMo horse i painted for him, and a fleece hunter pad that I've missed out on the past few sales, and a white dressage pad because I'll always need those!

ReplyDeleteMy husband wants to get a 3D printer, and my daughter loves Breyer horses! I wonder if anyone has shared print files for horse things like this? Or do people sell the files? These little bottles and labels are so cute!

DeleteI was bummed to have missed the last FB sale since I have a serious StudioMaire saddle pad addiction. I love those clear spray bottles. The translucent design that shows a wire siphon tube from the spray head has just the perfect added detail to make it so much better.
