NaMoPaiMo is over, and I'm still painting. Cows mostly, but since it's not February, that counts.
I was running low on Dullcote, so yesterday, I went to my local hobby shop to replenish my stash.I walked in the door and was immediately attracted to the Schleich tower. And there she was: an inexpensive, good looking, 1:9 scale cat I don't already own.
Last fall, I competed in Heather Malone's Candyland Live show, which had a cat-themed performance class. In preparation, I rounded up all my cats and took a photo. I posted the picture on Facebook and most people were delighted.
There was one hater.I thought about Angelo as I held the cat in my hand. Were they right? Do I, in fact, have ENOUGH cats? Does that even matter? It's not like this cat is expensive or takes up a lot of room. If I want it I should get it. Why are they judging me?I closed my fingers around the cat and carried her with me as I did my shopping. Then I took her to the register and bought her completely out of spite. That's her name now: Spite Cat.
I also bought her twin, who is going to the winner of this month's Shrimp Raffle
That winner is Betsy in WI. Congratulations, Betsy! Please email your shipping information to braymere@comcast.net and will get your shrimp and cat right out to you!

that's a delightful name for a delightful cat
ReplyDeleteNah! You can *never*:have too many cats!!
ReplyDeleteI ,myself, also own this cat! I'm also actively collecting more kitty cats partially due to your collection!! (Although I haven't yet bit the bullet and ordered those ones from Japan, I do have 3-4 unpainted 3D pieces!!
This is particular nice siamese colored one! I happen to love Siamese cats and my traveling companion's daughter actually owns 2 female ragdoll sisters!
Ugghh--I could never eat anything that has a face on it---but shrimp scampi and shrimp cocktails are GOOD!! (Yum!!)
ReplyDeleteHope your Schleich tower carries more than fantasy creatures and dinosaurs!! Enough with fantasy and dinos!! More real creatures *please *!!
Going back through your referenced posts, I hit the word clowder. My best friend is a vet, a writer and a cat person, and she taught me that word (and many other group terms).
ReplyDeleteOMG I won a shrimp by Ryan AND a Ragdoll cat?!! Fantastic!! Thanks so much!
