The last few days of NaMoPaiMo are complete and utter chaos, but in the end a whole lot of people painted a whole lot of little horses.
This year's official number is four hundred five.
That's a fifty nine completion rate, which is solidly average for this event. The completion rate for American painters was also fifty seven percent. Of all the countries with at least ten registered painters, the United Kingdom was once again the most successful, with twenty three of thirty eight participants making it across the finish line.
In regards to age, our youngest and oldest participants were the most productive, with sixty three percent of the under twelve crowd and sixty one percent of the over forty gang finishing their models.
Finally, it's the showdown of the skill levels. The advanced amateurs won this one, with a completion rate of sixty five percent. The intermediates were next (sixty two percent), followed by the professionals (sixty percent) and the beginners (forty seven percent). Thirty seven percent of our first time painters finished, which is not unexpected - painting model horses is hard. Still, I hope we can figure out how to help our newbies more.
But that's a problem for next year. For now, I am content to sit back and enjoy the four hundred five beautiful new models created by my friends.
Thank you to everyone who painted with me this year. Regardless of completion status, you're all winners in my book!

Thank you for these stats, and for everything you did to bring this lovely community together to paint model horses.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be back next year!
Thank you for your efforts! This is always fun.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I think for next year, I'm just going to need to prep and prime a model before the snow flies lol. Didn't get a single good day for spraying primer the whole month.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting! This was my first NaMoPaiMo and I had a blast.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for running this event again. I didn't finish this time but I enjoyed seeing updates as much as ever
ReplyDeleteI’m already looking forward to next year!! Thanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun challenge, exposing both the mediocrity and the bravery. When all is sudden and done, it was my utter pleasure to work along side each of you
