BreyerWest other performance

Earlier this month, I had the honor of judging the Performance division at the BreyerWest Open Show.

BreyerWest 2024 Open Show judges, Kristen Cermele, Cheryl Ellison, Barb Ness, Heather Jackson-Lain, Meredith Sanders, Cynthia Wyatt Briley and Jennifer Buxton

As per usual, the division opened with a pair of harness classes.

These were both won by Karin Hulatti.

The Parade and Costume classes were next.

None of them were large, but the quality was there.

I especially enjoyed Arabian Costume.

Stephanie Blaylock's custom Malik claimed the top prize, but all the entries were great.

I really loved seeing Karin's vintage Jennifer's Imagination show ring style costume.

My pictures don't do it justice. It's so sparkly in person!

Saddleseat was a one entry class, but at least it was a good one!

I didn't take any pictures of the Showmanship class, but it was won by a familiar face, Purdy Zippin Chic, an older custom by Tiffany Purdy who has been owned by several of my friends. She now belongs to Paige Palen, who did a fantastic job with her at this show. She won both the Showmanship and Other Performance classes...

and went on to claim the Other Performance sectional championship.
