Today is the sixth day of the International Model Horse Painting Party, and, as my friend, Fabian, would say, magic is happening.
My Facebook feed is filled with pictures of models coming to life.

Lynn Cassels-Caldwell's Anamar got his second coat of oils. For those of us keeping track, that's a thin layer of dark brown over the blue top line, with more copper and gold everywhere else. I am obsessed.
Speaking of obsessed, look at this cool model by Andrea Funke. She writes: This is a customized Nickolas. He is my first traditional done in the style of Japanese Kintsugi, which is the art of fixing broken pottery by filling the cracks with gold. I've struggled a lot with my mental health throughout my life, so I love the symbolism of how something broken can be put back together and the cracks/flaws just add to it's beauty and interest! I use terra cotta paints to give it the look of pottery. Then I etch in the cracks and fill them with gold paint. I'll seal it with matte sealer, then go back and gloss the gold again.
There are also a couple new faces in the traditional NaMoPaiMo "I Did It!" Winners' Circle. This is Mel Boyne's first ever traditional overo, who also features a new to her white recipe, a new way of painting hooves and her most realistic blue eye to date. Great work, Mel!
She's joined by newcomer, Gail Bruckner, who shared many beautiful outdoor pictures of her finished model.
Gail writes: WOOT!! I am DONE my very first NaMoPaiMo Pony!! This was incredibly exciting and fun and I LOVE HIM!!Congratulations, Mel and Gail, and good work, everyone. Let's keep it going! This is a short month, and we have so much painting to do!
