Today is the fifth day of the International Model horse Painting Party, and fittingly, there are five horses in the Winner Circle. Jay Linds' Nerissa and Karen Gerhardt's Purplamar were finished yesterday.
Today, they were joined by two "I Finished it!" model's by Amanda Reed. The first is a Prost! stablemate.
The second is a glitter-bombed mini Alborozo, "Disco Ball." Here's how she describes his creation: He has been a WIP since July 2019 and I was finally satisfied with how much glitter he has, LOL! His under layers are holo glitter nail polish of two different sizes, but the bulk of the glitter on top was added using the technique I learned during last year's NaMoPaiMo. I added loose glitter to a clear glitter acrylic medium to create an ideal intensity of glitter and viscosity of the mix to create something akin to actual glitter paint.
Rhen Vega's horse is an old school "I Did It!" model, having been started and finished during the month of February. She writes: Nuno is finished! I’ve never done this type of color so it was a bit challenging, but overall I am happy with how he turned out! He has fully detailed eyes and hooves, which is not usual for me. I tend to curb some of the details for a sculpture this small (stablemate scale), but this time, I cut up some brushes to make them small enough for the details.
Congratulations, Amanda and Rhen! To everyone else, let's keep it going! This is a short month, and we have so much painting to do!
