Resin Renaissance wrap-up

The Resin Renaissance is an officially sponsored Breyer show with official Breyer prizes, including rosettes...
and prize models.
But that's not all! Since this is also a show for artist produced models, there was also an artist produced prize: the Renaldi medallion sculpted by Kylee Parks.
Expertly cast by Heather Malone and her partner, Josh Wesner, Renaldi came in a multitude of colors. As a member of the show staff, I also received one. So happy!
Of course, these weren't the only medallions in the room. The Resin Renaissance had an entire division devoted to them.
No surprise, there was a lot of Kylee's work on the table.
I love this one.
Speaking of Kylee, here she is judging a teeny tiny entry in the Amateur Owner Workmanship division. Sometimes you just need a little more light!
In addition to all the regular classes, there was also a small Fun division with classes for Wild Animals, Domestic Animals, Customized Resins, Non Equid Fantasy and Judges Classes for pieces created by the judge in the division it would show in.
These took place over lunch, and I missed most of them because I was eating. However, I was able to snap quick pictures of the winners of the Domestic Animals class.
I judged the Customized Artist Resin class. Customized artist resins are kind of my thing, and this table was full of stunners. I could have easily chosen a dozen winners, but alas, I was limited to two. In the end, I went with this Leonardo customized by Kylee Parks and painted by Heather Bullach...
and an Anna Dobrowolska-Oczko Wilga turned unicorn by Mindy Berg. I'm not usually a unicorn person, but this one is WOW.
There were no official entries in the Wild Animal section, so the show holders allowed Christine Jordan to enter her taxidermied fox, Tyrion. Here he is with his prizes and my Diet Coke.
Last but certainly not least, here's what happens when someone brings a real live dog into a show hall. He was so cute!
The Resin Renaissance was a well run shown with great judges and lots of amazing entries. I was proud to be a member of the staff, and I hope this show becomes a permanent part of the BreyerFest line-up.
