This year, the road to BreyerFest ran through Illinois, so on Tuesday, I got up early, said goodbye to my favorite pony and headed to the airport.
My last flight was in January 2020, right at the end of the Before Times. It felt weird and also completely normal to stand in a TSA line.
I got to my gate in plenty of time. Instead of browsing the magazines, I scrolled Facebook and read a book on my Kindle. Finally, it was time to board.
The flight was full. My rowmates were pleasant.
Hello, Chicago!
It's been much, much too long.
Tiffany met me outside. I wish you could have heard her greeting. It was as amazing as it was loud.
We headed to her new home in Grayslake, where I met her new husband, Paul.
Also, her new studio cat, Jack.
After a really nice dinner, Tiffany and I headed down to the studio to get ready for BreyerFest.
Tiffany packed her horses,
worked on her live show documentation...
and took pictures of her sales models.Pretty good!
My contributions mostly included inspecting the sales horses,
tacking the show horses,
(okay, maybe tacking just one show horse)...and entertaining Jack.
It's a tough job, but someone had to do it.
No one sleeps during BreyerFest, so we went to bed late and got up early. We tetris-ed everything into Tiffany's Suburban.
Paul snapped a photo of us...and then we hit the road.
Watch out Lexington. Here we come!

Wait til you're older. You will sleep during BreyerFest. This in no way diminishes the fun.
ReplyDeleteI love the view of Tiffany's studio.
Eventually, there will be a whole post with pictures of Tiffany's studio. It's really wonderful!
