Inspired by the popularity of the Facebook Ten Year Challenge, Sara Roberson asked her fellow NaMoPainters to post side-by-side images of their first and most recent customs.
And in true NaMoPaiMo fashion, she offered up a collage showing some of her own models created in 2011, 2014 and a current work in progress.
Almost immediately, the photos came rolling in.

Some of the pictures spanned a significantly greater than ten year gap.

Others represented just a few short years.

Either way...

it was fun - and instructive - to see the artist growth over time.

This is amazing.

I don't know what's going on with this one, however. I guess some people are just born to paint!

In addition to gaining skill over time, a lot of people also switched mediums. Paige Hooven's foal and stablemate were painted with acrylics. The two big horses are pastel pieces.

Shauna McDaniel made a similar transition. She also learned to prep!

Last but not least, here's a picture of a pair of ponies created by Sanne Grandjean compeiting in an "Old vs. New" class at a live show. What a great idea for a class!

Thank you and congratulations to all the artists who participated in Sara's
Ten Year Old and New Challenge! Your horses are great - all of them!
