Today is election day in the United States.
Colorado is a vote by mail state. All registered voters automatically receive a ballot in the mail.
It's an off year election. Our ballots were quite short and not terribly consequential. Seth and I waited until this morning to fill them out. Then I took both of them to the ballot box near the barn and dropped them off.
As I was doing so, a man in a red t-shirt gave me a long look and remarked pointedly, "Two ballots, I see."A lot of smart aleck answers went through my head. I almost said, "Mine and my horse's."
Instead, I was good and went with the truth: "Mine and my husband's."
So that's this year's election story. If you hear about voter fraud in Aurora, it's probably me and either my horse or my husband!

Congrats on being good! I miss the stickers. Since Covid, we always vote by absentee ballot and drop them off ourselves.
ReplyDeleteSweetie--what I like to say probably wouldn't be appropriate to say in case there are younger viewers here!! The incivility of people to their fellow Americans is really getting out of hand and it's sad too!!
ReplyDeleteLet us hope that we can get back to who we truly are -- and remember that we are ALL fellow Americans--no matter your gender, color or nationality!!
Good for you that you voted!!
Subtle intimidation much??? You should have let Sage vote!! Hah! Voter fraud?? Be careful!! Don't want to bring out the National Guards!! Hehe!!
