The candy plan, part eight

I have so many model horse Halloween costumes, and none of them fit my Olive model. This is a real problem, because class nine of the Themed Performance Division at CandyLand Live is called Halloween. 

I started brainstorming ideas for my big mane, big forelock model. To my dismay, I kept coming back to this.

Yesterday, I caved. I drove to JoAnn, hoping to find some tiny orange pom poms. Alas, there were none to be had. Instead, I came home with some white pom poms and a bottle of orange dye.

I thought I could make that work, but had second thoughts after reading the instructions on the bottle. 

"You know," I thought. "I vaguely remember a guest post about making pom poms with embroidery floss."

I went on a fishing expedition, and there it was. July 2016. Missy Halvas.

I read through the instructions and dove right in.

It worked!

So that was last night.

This morning, I went back to JoAnn, returned the white pom poms and dye and bought more floss.

This was the rest of the day.

It's not an exact replica of big Olive's costume, but it's close enough to be extremely, weirdly satisfying.

I don't know why I'm like this, but all of a sudden I am on fire. It's only ten classes. I can do it, right? Right?! I guess we'll know on Saturday!
