The candy plan, part seven

In the melee, Olive's hackamore headstall was completely destroyed. I hung the remnants around my saddle horn and borrowed Karen's dropped noseband to use as a makeshift halter.
We walked a long way like that.
Eventually, I got tired of walking. I clipped my reins to the dropped noseband's rings, effectively converting it into a lightweight sidepull.
I was mildly concerned that I wouldn't have enough control, but Olive went really well in the dropped noseband. So well, in fact, I'm pretty sure I could use it as an everyday bridle.
Yesterday at work, I walked up to the cash register and saw a familiar looking noseband sitting on the counter. I laughed and said to one of my co-workers, "I know it looks like a dropped noseband, but actually, that's a bridle."
And then I thought to myself, "Yes, that's a bridle."
And now it is.
It's been a long time since I've made tack. My close-up vision is really shot, and even with magnifiers, this took me so much longer than it should have.
Still, I am pleased with my efforts. This is a really satisfying - and real Olive approved - solution to model Olive's English bridle problem.
CandyLand Live is just over a week away. How many classes will model Olive and I manage to enter? Only time will tell!

  1. Hurray! That definitely happened for a reason. I knew you'd come up with something! And, best of all, it's Olive Approved!
