Playing with dolls

This morning, I drove by Ryan's house for a pre-barn, pre-work cookie delivery and visit.

We went out to the garage to see his new-to-him laser and CNC machine.
Then it was back to his 3D printing studio office...
where he showed me all of his most recent creations.
There were a lot of them.
Many of which were this little, articulated action figures.
I was intrigued, so he gave me one to play with.
Of course, the first thing I did was put it on a horse. You can not tell from this photo, but it rides pretty well.
Suddenly, we started talking about how this could be a really good model horse prop. He showed me all the interchangeable hands...
and his one realistic head. It's Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, because of course it is.
That might not be the best choice for a riding doll, but then Ryan reminded me that back in 2020, we were scanning and printing our own heads. It really would not take much to push these little action figures into realistic, custom hobby dolls.
One of the dolls came home with me.
I spent some time playing with it after work.
The pose-ability is really exceptional.
I am especially impressed with the neck and torso.
I mean, look at this!
Someone with more time on their hands needs to tweak these readily accessible print files and make customized rider dolls for the hobby. The technology is there, and I know for sure that I would buy some!
