Après ski

Speaking of Breyers at work, our 2024 holiday shipment arrived last week. They're on display right at the front of the store, and I've enjoyed hearing what our customers have to say about them, especially since theirs is, mostly, a non-collector viewpoint.

The advent calendar - which will forever remind me of Lynn - is always popular and was the first item to sell this year.
This cute little guy has also garnered a lot of attention.
But truly, this is the one that everyone's talking about.
His name is Après Ski, which is a term used to describe post-skiing social activities.
Fittingly, his outfit includes a pair of skis.
My pictures aren't the best, so here's the official catalog photo.
Colorado is ski state, and the same people that can afford a horse also can afford a ski pass. No surprise, Après Ski and his mini me sidekick have been very well received.
Like the last several holiday horses, Après Ski's costume was designed with input from Nichelle Jones. I love it when Breyer works with hobbyists to create not just horses, but tack and props, too.

  1. Who'd have thought I would be so excited over an advent calendar of tiny models that I really don't collect, but do I ever love Breyer's advent calendars!! And I can hardly wait to start opening this year's on December 1! :D

    1. I totally get it. Several years ago, my friend gave me a Schleich advent calendar. I don't collect Schleichs, but I had so much fun opening all those little doors. I would absolutely do it again.

  2. I like the small American Quarter Horse Ornament. Would it fit Stablemate? Or is it a different size?
