Littler Colorado Sage

For the last two years, Stone Horses has partnered with NaMoPaiMo to encourage and reward painters who use Stone models for their project.

Last year, the prize model was Winslow. Based on the mustang gelding I was caring for at the time, Winslow was a limited of three pieces on the Ideal Stock Horse mold. Two winners were chosen by random draw, one from the pool of people who had registered to paint a Stone model and the other from the group that actually finished their Stone model.
The third went to me, which meant big Winslow got to meet little Winslow.
Naturally, this made me wonder about the identity of the 2026 model, especially since I own a new mustang with a very fancy paintjob.
One week into February, Erin posted this graphic to the NaMoPaiMo Facebook page. Ooh, the mustang mare mold! That seemed like a clue.
A week ago, she sent me this message. Of course, I read nothing into it.
Except, of course, I did. Even though I was reasonably sure model Sage was a thing, I squealed with delight when this picture hit my Facebook feed.
three Stone mustang mares on the Volo mold: Callie, CJ Carter and Little Colorado Sage
Finally, confirmation!
What a great likeness! I am so excited.
We are currently compiling a list of all the Stone painters who finished their models. If that's you, and you have not yet uploaded a picture to the NaMoPaiMo website, please consider this your final warning. February is over. I can't wait to see who wins the Littler Colorado Sages.
