Last month, I signed up to participate in a forty one day Walking Challenge at work.
At first my goal was simply to finish in the Top Five.I worked really hard to stay in contention while I was visiting Carol in Mississippi.
When I got home, I was in second place. I realized that I might actually be able to win. I decided I really wanted to win.I redoubled my efforts at home on the treadmill,
at the barn with Sage and...
around the neighborhood with Piper.
I even started going for walks during my lunch break at work instead of sitting the back and scrolling on my phone.Who knew there was a pretty little trail so close to the store?
I have walked...
and walked...and walked.
My efforts have paid off. With just over two weeks left to go, I am comfortably in first place.
Here are the actual step totals. Walking this much is a commitment. It takes a lot of time to get to 27,000 steps.
While I’ve mostly enjoyed it, there are trade-offs. This blog is one of them.
Despite having plenty of things to write about, I just don't have enough hours in my day. This may get worse before it gets better, but either way, the Walking Challenge ends October 5.

Do what you wanna do!! I'm all for that. I appreciate the explanations. But, dear, normal is a gift that eludes us all too frequently.
