BCC potpourri

As much as I would like to give every entrant in the BreyerFest Best Customs contest a post of their own, I'm beginning to run out of time and energy. Today, I'm showcasing several excellent entries from three separate categories, starting with two from the always jam packed Excellence in Finishwork Division.
This handsome Latigo was painted by Devon Frinzi.
I don't have much information about him, but he sure is pretty.
Next up is Mallory Camp's Bandolero.
She writes: Here’s my Finishwork entry for this year. A friend called him Mora Dorada (Golden Blackberry) when she saw pictures. That seemed to fit so now that’s his name.
This is my third time entering. One day I’ll manage to paint a finalist.
Onto to the Most Extreme Custom division!
I bet you can't guess which model Meg Schroeder used to create this feisty guy.
Here's the answer. What a change!
Last but certainly not least, here's Laurel Seuss' entry for the Excellence in Tack Making category.
Laurel writes: This is my first time entering the BCC, but I’ve been making tack on and off for the last ten years. Your blog was such a massive resource as I figured out what methods worked for me when I was a beginner!
I wanted to make something and blingy and detailed, but still modern and realistic. I missed the deadline last year for this set, but I think it worked out just fine considering the color scheme and fit for Athenian Lady.
Congratulations, Devon, Mallory, Meg and Laurel. Your horses - and tack! - are all amazing. Good luck in Kentucky!

  1. I'm going to have to tell Mallory that it should be "Dorado" if he's a stallion. Spanish names ending in 'a' are generally feminine, while 'o' is the masculine.
