Small catastrophes

I watched the news tonight, and all of it was bad. There was record breaking heat, forest fires, gun violence, the ongoing pandemic and, of course, that horrific condo collapse in Florida.

Compared to all of that, my life is fine. I have nothing to complain about.

And yet... Yesterday, my computer crashed, and it took all my photos, all my documents, all my bookmarks, all my passwords, all my performance showing documentation, all my photo editing software, all my everything with it. We've done the obvious things, and it's not going to be an easy fix. The hard drive is the culprit is at the computer doctor.  It may not be fixable, and the fix may or may not be affordable. I'll know more on Monday.
I don't need any advice - we've got things covered - and it's not a catastrophe, at least not in a national news kind of way. Still, it's been a pretty crappy couple of days. I'm tired, frustrated and sad. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

  1. I’m so sorry!! That really sucks.

  2. Oh no! Hoping that you are able to salvage the important things. Monday is a long-time to wait... (((hugs)))

  3. I've had that happen with a laptop with my (now passed) cats' kitten pictures on it. Unrecoverable, lost all of it. It sucks.

  4. Oh poor kid. Hugs to you... best wishes for some recovery.

  5. Oh no! That's definitely frustrating. I hope the computer doctor has good news.
