Picture day, part one

Carol arrived in Colorado on Sunday, but because of a delayed and misrouted plane, plus family obligations on both of our parts, I didn't see her until Tuesday evening, when we met up with her/our friend, Marie, at our favorite restaurant.
She spent that night at Marie's, and then was transferred back into my care the next morning while I was still at the barn.
It was a beautiful, warm, summery day, a perfect day for two year Oliversary photos.
I asked, and of course, Carol was happy to oblige.
We rode in the ring,
around the retention pond...
and on the street in front of the barn.
I often go this way on the way back from the retention pond, but I've never thought to take photos here.
I kind of love them.
We also took Olive's quarterly conformation photos.
Here's three years of November pictures.
This was such a fun day!
Thank you, Carol, for all the wonderful pictures.
Let's do it again soon, okay?

  1. I’m so jealous of your conformation photos! I wish I’d that annually with my two geldings. Your Olive is a beautiful girl.

    2. I used to follow a blogger who took conformation photos of her horse every month. I loved the idea of that, but quarterly felt a lot more manageable. It is nice now that I’m a couple years in to see how she’s changed and not changed.

  2. You know?? Ever since you said that you had Olive's DNA tested and found out that she had Paso Fino ancestry, I've found it hard to see her as a mustang!!
When you take side shots of her conformation, it just seems to make her Paso side more pronounced!! The very few "live" mustangs that I've ever seen were more QH horsey in appearance ( Altho I've seen some jugheaded drafter looking ones at the local auction too!)
She's still a sweet looking lady tho!( I love me some pretty redheads!!)
