Aside from Tiffany's BreyerFest bridle, I haven't made anything hobby related in a really long time. Lately, I've been feeling the urge, but what to make? I couldn't think of anything, so I asked for suggestions on the Braymere Custom Saddlery Facebook page.
LOL, I'm not sure some of you know what a "small, fun prop" is.
There were a lot of great ideas, but in the end, I didn't make any of them.
As much as I wanted to, I was just too busy - and too distracted - to actually sit down and make things happen.
It was like that for more than a week. Then, last weekend, my schedule and my distractions all magically went away. I didn't have to work, Seth went camping and it was too rainy to ride Olive.
"This is it," I told myself sternly. "There will no better opportunity to get something done." But the question remained, what should I make? I reviewed the list of project suggestions and rejected them all. I pawed through my tack hardware boxes, hoping for inspiration. Nope. Finally I looked up at the shelf and noticed my little Ilona Himmelman Dotty resin which I'd started painting during NaMoPaiMo.
"You know," I thought. "I might be able to finish that."
I was right.
I'd originally planned to give her spots, but I decided she didn't need them. I love her exactly as she is.
In fact, I was so pleased with my efforts, I decided to keep going. Here's what I'm working on now.
It's slow going because my schedule is full and distractions about. Still, I think the worst of the creative block is behind me. And who knows, maybe when I'm done with Mushu, I'll make him a bee suit or a hot walker!
